On Thursday our 4th grade students participated in an amazing experiential learning experience in our local park, Point Pinole. They planted plants to restore the habitat, learned about birds, and did a cleanup of the shoreline. Thanks to Golden Gate Audubon Society for supporting our Montalvin 4th grade scholars!

Students at Montalvin are practicing 21st-century skills using technology for learning in our classrooms. Students use Google docs to write their position papers on whether school should serve chocolate milk or white milk and share those essays on Google to get feedback from their teacher and peers!
Our Montalvin scholars and families donated almost 1000 cans to donate to Contra Costa in an effort to get back to our commynity. Our fifth-grade students were the winners of the donation challenge raising over 250 cans. Students who participated were able to create sculptures with the food that was donated!
