Katherine Acosta-Verprauskus
Principal Born and raised in Lima, Peru and moved to Kansas when she was 10 years old. Katherine is a first-generation college student and earned her master's and undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas. She is dedicated to serving youth and supporting them to reach their goals and dream. In the past she has served as a vice principal in a K-8th school in East Oakland and as a special education teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in WCCUSD. Ms. Acosta-Verprauskus values working in partnership with teachers, students, and families to maximize the learning and experience of ALL students get at Montalvin Elementary School. In her spare time she chases her, 8, 5, and 1 year old boys and enjoys cooking in her Richmond home. |
Laura Webb
Vice Principal Laura Webb is Montalvin’s Vice Principal. Laura grew up in Connecticut and moved to California in 2001 after earning her undergraduate degree from Wheelock College in Boston. She earned her Administrative Services Credential from Sonoma State University. Prior to serving in this role, Laura taught for 21 years in San Francisco and Marin County. In addition, she was a Language Arts Instructional Coach for grades K-5. Laura is passionate about supporting students, families, and staff by building strong relationships and collaborating with all stakeholders. She makes every effort to support all students to be independent thinkers and motivated learners. In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with her two children, ages 15 and 13, reading books, and visiting beaches along the coast. |
Trell Sneed
Unconditional Education Coach Trell Sneed is Montalvin Manor’s Unconditional Education Coach. Trell grew up in the greater Bay Area region, by way of Arlington, TX. Trell has been serving within WCCUSD since 2009, after completing his undergraduate degree in Social Welfare at the University of California at Berkeley. Prior to his role at Seneca, he spent 11 years at Playworks and most recently served as a Regional Director for Northern California. Trell is a devoted father of 5 and loves family time, making music and riding ATVs. His “WHY” is grounded in being a caring and consistent adult, and is to help students and families gain access to equitable resources and education. |
Coach Pete Dean of Students Coach Pete supports the vision for Montalvin Manor K-8 School by supporting a positive culture and climate across campus and ensuring all students have access to behavioral interventions and supports. Coach Pete works closely with the school administrative team to lead and provide structured recess, provide at-risk students with social supports and Tier 2 interventions, and facilitates in-school suspension and restorative meetings for students returning to school from suspension or incarceration. |
Adriana Santos
Behavior Support Specialist Adriana Santos is Montalvin Manor's Behavior Support Specialist. Adriana was born in Oaxaca, Mexico, and grew up in East Oakland. Before her role at Seneca, Adriana spent 8 years as a Sped Para educator providing behavioral and academic support to elementary school students. Adriana cares deeply about fostering meaningful relationships and connections with youth and families as she understands it is a key factor to creating a supportive community to ensure student success. Adriana works collaboratively with teachers and school administrators to establish equitable individual & group behavioral interventions to help students access their education in an inclusive environment. |
